Description

The Hot Rods Heavy-Duty Connecting Rod Kits are premium OE replacement parts designed for high performance and longevity. Forged from certified 8620 AISI steel, these rods offer superior strength and durability. The crankpins are made from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 steel and are case-hardened to 58-62Rc. The kits feature the latest caged needle roller bearing designs, ensuring high RPM longevity. The uniquely designed big end minimizes bearing race distortion at high RPMs through strategically located side scalloping and vent slots. The small ends are double drilled for extra lubrication and cooling of the wrist pin bearing, particularly important when the piston crown is close to the wrist pin. Each rod is shot-peened to eliminate surface stress risers and smoothly blend the rod forging’s radiuses, while double honing produces an ultra-round bearing surface for high RPM reliability. The rod assemblies come complete with a rod, crank pin, crank pin bearing, wrist pin bearing, and silver-coated bronze phosphor thrust washers. They are compatible with both Hot Rods and OE crankshafts.
